What I have read today, 06 July 2009, 0900-1200.

 Today,  the first day i entered  my studio. It was crowded with a lot of students as well as the faculties. Housing, Building and Planning (HBP) is a course in which we do familiar with as it plays a vital role in various of aspects in our life especially a country's developement and urbanisation. HBP is divided into 7 main courses, namely constructing management, quantity survey, architecture, building technology, urban and regional planning, interior design, and building survey.

 Then, the lecturer, Mr. Wan Burhanuddin bin Wan Abidin was delivering his speech on the RUS 101. Before that,he briefly explained us the word of "read". There are a lot of the definitions as he went through it. Read is an act which a source we gain oyr knowledge. For more information, refer to

During the lesson, i have read about the linkage of 3 elements which COMPLETES a cycle towards a success and mission. Intention, acts and products are closely related. In order to accomplish a mission, we need to have a desire as the wish which controls the actions that we are going to take in the next. It nurtures how far we go into the acts and how effective they work. For example, to achieve and be an APEX University, what have been done at the back of everything to be peaked among the others. As these proceed, the product is yet to be grabbed in fist. However, the linkage comprised of the other three which are provide, rules and sites.

 In HBP, we have our own certain ''tools'' as how the others do. The tools are as follow, in which we need in our first semester.

(i)   documents { text,images (still moving)}

(ii)  communication { present, argue and negotiate}

(iii) design { images, objects, phototypes, spaces and etc.}

(iv) construct

(v)  serve

These are the tools that we need to carry all the way long throughout this semester as long as 14 weeks. Each aspect is comprised of twenty marks,and the overall is 100%. During the first semester, we have talks, lectures, demos, exercises, projects, marks and esquisee.

Before the lecture ended, we were given tasks to be carried to register in 10 groups among the 16 groups for the 10 projects which are yet to be proceed in the coming days. The grouping activity was about half an hour before re-entered into our studio.

Then, we were given the first assignment which is the "1A My Home", creating a home page which belonged to each individual who taking HBP as well. The enquiry was stated as follows:

1. get your own home page (website), anywhere on the www...

2. send our url to rus101-2009@googlegroups.com  as we have done with the home page making.

3. fill it up with

 Content 1: " What I read today"

Content 2: " My Big Bang!" (on what we have through with the seniors)

 At the same time, Mr. Wan showed us a crime which often committed by everyone, PLAGIARISM. The words can be interpreted as follows which i refered to while the lecturer introducing the meaning of it.

"Plagiarism, as defined in the 1995 Random House Compact Unabridged Dictionary, is the "use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work."[1] Within academia, plagiarism by students, professors, or researchers is considered academic dishonesty or academic fraud and offenders are subject to academic censure, up to and including expulsion. In journalism, plagiarism is considered a breach of journalistic ethics, and reporters caught plagiarizing typically face disciplinary measures ranging from suspension to termination. Some individuals caught plagiarizing in academic or journalistic contexts claim that they plagiarized unintentionally, by failing to include quotations or give the appropriate citation.[2] While plagiarism in scholarship and journalism has a centuries-old history, the development of the Internet, where articles appear as electronic text, has made the physical act of copying the work of others much easier, simply by copying and pasting text from one web page to another.

Plagiarism is not copyright infringement. While both terms may apply to a particular act, they are different transgressions. Copyright infringement is a violation of the rights of a copyright holder, when material protected by copyright is used without consent. On the other hand, plagiarism is concerned with the unearned increment to the plagiarizing author's reputation that is achieved through false claims of authorship." *Quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plagiarism

For more information about the crime, please refer to the website stated in below which has been explained by my lecturer throughout the whole session.

MY BIG BANG!

06TH JULY 2009, TUESDAY

  After the introduction about the studio, we've been given a period of time together with our seniors. The program sounded great and interesting...But it was somehow sharply diverse compared to what it really was. It was started at 2 o'clock.

  There were 4 seniors with us and guiding us along the whole session. One of the seniors has briefed us about the orientation which is yet to be carried out by 8th of July till 11st of July at Dataran Merah. According to his reveal, this activity is only available to us whose taking the HBP courses. The orientation is consisted of a lot of elements, for examples sports, games and etc.

  After that, all the students were grouped accordingly into several teams. My team was in the Building Servay, as the grouping getting done. We've been told to pay RM60 for the orientation fee included the shirt, food and etc. tHGEN, The seniors were collecting money froaym us. Within the progress, we found a few problems which are going to crash with the orientation on Thursday. Some found that the medical checkup and clubs' meeting are going to be on the same day. We were reported to the seniors to lend us helps for the problems occured as well. The gather was dismmissed by 5 p.m.

This is the situation during  our lecturer delivering his speech in the studio for RUS 101. The lecturer was telling us about the linkage of the 6 elements in which they do play an essential part towards a production as well and a bit about the faculties of each course.

09TH JULY 2009, THURSDAY   : SWEAT MOMENT

The sport was get started in really late afternoon. We were so exhausted of it. Luckily, i was not the participants of the competition ( In fact, i did but the competition that i was participating has been cancelled.) Futsal and netball were still proceeding. Quite a boring day with nothing to do...

10TH JULY 2009, FRIDAY         : OPEN CEREMONY, ICE BREAKING

 Today was the opening day. The chairperson was delivering his speech on the inner meaning of the theme been created for us. What is the real meaning that lay behind unliterally. BIG BANG is actually about the mixture and combination between the different races in the HBP including those who are from variety of countries. this activity was mainly organised to gather all of the students and let they know their each other to be a body where the spirit of commitment could be nurtured. In fact, teamwork is the main key and extremely crucial in order to get a good score in our projects. Then our professor, Mr. Musyidddin was briefing a bit about the program.

It was about 8.30pm, we were all gathering at Dataran Merah to have our first game. And the first mision was given to each group!! Every group was asked to create and make its a theme, cheers and a midule to be presented afterwards. The facilitators gave about half an hour to complete all the works given!! We just like the ants in the pan!!! So nervous!! But we did it nicely at the end...and i have created my group a funny cheers!! Haha..

We were getting to know each other during the program. This was our facilitator, a nice and pretty Malay lady^^..Haha.

These are my group members. They are SO SWEET!!!

   Then, we were randomly elected as the representative of each group to present all the things. I was "LUCKY" as they chosen me to present the model we have done. Haha... Something was happening... I was cheating them as i introduced myself an international student from He Bei from China. I diid make a lot of funs with them. Such a naughty junior!!  Haha.. We've been giving home by 12am in a heavy RAIN!!! I ran back without umbrella, and drenched in rains... Really a weird day!!

11TH JULY 2009, SATURDAY

10.00 am

It was a sunny morning. We were been gathering at the Dataran Merah in our own grouping within a queue. Then all groups were given materials to create a gadget using own ideas to protect an egg safely which gas been provided and is not broken when the egg is threw down within the gadget from the third floor of the building onto the ground. Our group received a plastic bag, a pack of STRAWS ( i was wondering why those things were allowed to be used within the University as the rules are under implementing and strictly obliged to everyone...really FUNNY!!), nilons, and a bulk of newspapers. I brought all my "tools" along...but it was a WASTE!! The facilitators were disallowed me to use them. They said it could be unfair to the others. Haiz...

My brain almost dried out instead of thinking ways TO SAVE THE LITTLE EGG!! Some of the members were so exciting, they TORE off the straws' plastics and started with the designs.

Finally, an ideal of structure was gradually appearing...even, it didn't look NICE...haha...

Our team member Merry Wang was suggested to have stitching which builds up the main component within the gadget. To ensure the stitching was firmly enclosed, we built few layers of straws to form a cylindrical 3D structure.

Then, we were again divided into little teams to make each different parts of the gadget. Some making paper balls, some were finding the way to reduce the impulsive from the ground towards the egg. Then, Phei Sia thinked that transform the gadget into the spherical shape, and we did it.

( This the product of the "egg protector")

  We were dismissed before 2pm of the experiment proving...Our group was the first fo perform our product. Something that really NUTs happens... The facilitors wereasking us to go to the third floor of the building to throw our gadget to ensure that the egg wouldn't be broken within the TRANSFORMER...Haha...

I was the reprensentative to do it...  I was trembling while holding the gadget at the third floor, i felt just somehow i gonna to kill a baby. Haiz... But, i did it and we WON!!! Wow!! The egg stayed wonderful and perfect in the gadget after the throw... We were so happy about it.

 8.00pm

At night, we were having the most disgusting and crazy EXPLORACE!!!! YUCKS!!! We've been through all the TOUGHEST levels till the end!!!

12TH JULY 2009, SUNDAY  : PERFORMANCE AND GRAND DINNER

Yeah!! Today was the last day of the HBP orientation. We were so happy about that, stopping to be tortured by the seniors. But, they kept doing so. Our gorup was going to perform something about singing since 60's, 70's till 80's. We were practising started from 2 pm till 5pm. Then, we performing by 8.30 during the grand dinner. We have several groups doing the performance. I was involving in the performance by singing a really romantic song, " My heart will go on". Wow...

After that, we were invited to have our "grand dinner". The function almost finished about 12am. So tiring!!!!
